The 45th death anniversary of renowned lawyer of the Supreme Court Alhaj Abdus Sobhan, also father of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, was observed on Sunday.

On the occasion, family members offered special prayers, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

Besides this, special prayers were held in different mosques, including Bashundhara Central Mosque in the capital.
Apart from that, a group of Islamic scholars offered a prayer at Banani graveyard.

Born on January 21, 1901, Abdus Sobhan contributed a lot to social reforms. He died on August 9, 1975.
