Bandarban Cantt School becomes the best
CHATTOGRAM: Bandarban Cantonment Public School and College was adjudged as the best school in the divisional level competition of ‘Bashundhara Khata-Kaler Kantho national school debate contest-2018.’
The contest was held at the National Maritime Institute in the port city on Friday.
The best school will participate in the final level of the contest on September 28 in the capital.
Noakhali Government Girls High School became runners up in the divisional level competition while Nafija Anjum Mrittika of the school was adjudged as the best debater.
Shuvosangho, a co-organisation of the daily Kaler Kantho, is organising the competition.
A total of eight schools of Chattogram division took part in the competition.
The other educational institutions which took part in the competition were Chattogram Laboratory School and College, Feni Central High School, Rangamati Government High School, Brahmanbaria Annoda Government High School, Cumilla Jila School and Kajem Ali School and College of Chattogram.
Chattogram Divisional Sports Organisation General Secretary Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir, Borotakia Group Managing Director and Shuvosangho Chief Adviser Niaz Morshed Elite and Kaler Kantho Chattogram Bureau Chief Mustafa Nayeem were present at the prize giving ceremony and discussion as guests.
Addressing the programme, Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir said debate paves way for exploring different areas of knowledge outside the text books.
Bashundhara Group and Kaler Kantho are encouraging the young generation in this regard from behind, he said.
Sirajuddin also hoped that the effort will continue in the future.
Members of Chittagong University Debating Society performed as judge in the competition.
