Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College gets permission to admit students

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Friday gave the permission for admission of students.
“We will be able to admit students for this academic year as the government has withdrawn its suspension order,” Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Director Md Tariqul Islam told the daily sun.
He said Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital resolved the complexity of land registration as per the government’s requirement.
The college will start distributing admission forms on December 10 and publish a list of selected students on December 11. The admission process will start on December 13, he added.
Tariqul said: “We will take only Tk 502,500 in admission fee instead of Tk 1390,000 fixed by the government for private medical colleges.”
On September 27, the ministry issued a circular, mentioning that five medical colleges, including Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital, can not admit students under the 2017–2018 academic session.
Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital is the fully-residential medical college located in Bashundhara Riverview area in Keraniganj. It is one of the largest private medical colleges in the country having a 300-bed hospital.
The college started journey in the 2014-15 academic year with only 40 students. After that, they got approval to admit 50 students from the 2015-16 academic year.
There are 90 teaching staff members, including lecturers and professors, in the medical college.
