Bashundhara aim to win all domestic trophies
Bashundhara Kings signed up 32 players for the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League football with an ambition to make a sensation winning the all domestic trophies and to play in the AFC Cup.
The newly promoted in the first tier of Professional Football League, the Bangladesh Premier League drew huge attention of the football fans making a massive showdown at the Motijheel club area yesterday.
They gathered with a colorful rally with horse carts along with a band party, 50 motor bikes, pick up cars, guided by the officials and more than 500 supporters with wearing team jerseys, banner and festoons.
Bashundhara Kings, who have already come to the talk of the sports arena for last few days when they have been taking preparation to form a strong side with bringing a World Cupper of Costa Rica, a Brazilian and Spanish booters.
Bashundhara Kings eyeing to be top at their first appearance outshining the established and traditional teams, apart from three foreign booters signed up some of the premier performers in the domestic competitions and for the national sides.
President of the Bashundhara Kings, Imrul Hassan, after performing their players’ registration talked to the reporters and expressed his ambition and objectives to appear with huge commitments.
“Our target is to win all the domestic trophies and to qualify in the AFC Cup, in fact we are trying to bring the football fans in the stadium, that’s the reason we formed a strong team.”
“We included World Cup booter of Costa Rica, who played in the Russia World Cup while a Brazilian and a Spanish player also signed up, all of our endeavors are to attract the fans and obviously to be the number one team in the county,” said Imrul Hassan.
Imrul Hassan, also expected the condition of football will be changed as he said, “In term of popularity and standard football is not as it was but now a days it is progressing.
Meanwhile, among the big names in the local competitions, Emon Babu, Ibrahim, Masuk Meah Jony, Motin Meah, Taohidul Alam Sabuj, Shisnata Tripura, AniSur Rahman Ziko are the players of the running national teams when Nasiruddin Chowdhury, Rezaul Karim, Alamgir Rana, Hemonta Vicnent, who also played in the national side, signed to play for the Bashundhara Kings.
“We came with big budget, appointed a Spanish coach, besides the Costa Rican, a Brazilian and Spanish, will also another foreign booter under Asian quota,” said Imrul Hassan.
