Bashundhara Cement, a concern of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, on Thursday signed an agreement with ‘NextSpaces Limited’ for supplying cement for construction of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
Belayet Hossain, Senior Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Bashundhara Group and Bimal Chandra Roy, Managing Director of NextSpaces Limited inked the agreement on behalf of their respective companies at Hotel Westin in the capital on Thursday.
Under the deal, Bashundhara Group will supply a total of 3.5 lakh tonnes of Bashundhara Cement for the construction work of the much-awaited nuclear power plant.
Among others, Major General (retd) Mahbub Haider, Adviser of Bashundhara Group, Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, Advisor (Treasurer), Mohammad Abu Tayeb, Advisor (Media), Md. Tofail Hossain, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Khandaker Kingshuk Hossain, Head of Sales of cement sector, Md.
Mahmudul Hasan, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Sales), Saroj Kumar Barua, Deputy General Manager (Technical Support), Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq, assistant general manager (Brand), and Ziaul Haque Farhan, Manager (Corporate Sales) were present on behalf of Bashundhara Group.
Khalid Ahmed Khan, Director of NextSpaces Limited and Director Khandaker Nazmul Hasan also attended the signing ceremony.
Recently, the management of NextSpaces visited the factories of Bashundhara Cement that produces high quality cement using VRM technology.
After assessing the quality of the cement, production capability of the factories and supply system, the company decided to use Bashundhara Cement at Rooppur nuclear power plant.
The company selected Bashundhara blast-furnace cement for construction of the main furnace of Rooppur project.
