Bashundhara Diapant Kids Run held

The first ever running event for the children, “Kids Run 2018 powered by Bashundhara Diapant, was held at Madani Avenue at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Friday.
Country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group’s Bashundhara Diapant sponsored the whole event and also provided the overall protocol for the programme while The Great Bangladesh Run organised the Run.
The event started from 7:15am in the morning.
The Great Bangladesh Run is supporting the sustainable development goal of “Good Health and Wellbeing” in the establishment of “Run for Healthy Bangladesh”.
The Great Bangladesh Run is also trying to increase health consciousness among the children of the whole country while creating awareness through running among the people of the nation. They have taken the initiative to organise a 10-kilometer running event in all 64 districts of the country in order to create heath awareness. As a part of the campaign running events have been organised.
Moreover, they have also organised Global Running Day, Diabetes Day and Charity Run Day.
The race was for kids under 12 years of age. There were three categories in the race. Category A for 9-12 years, Category B for 5-8 years, and Category C for who children of less than 5 years. Category A and B competed in a 2-kilometer race while participants of category C took part in 100-meter ‘run fun’.
Executive Brand Ambassador of Bashundhara Diapant Murshedul Bari was present during the occasion.
A huge number of participants took part in the Kids Run campaign. Among others, participant’s guardians and organisers were also present on the special day. All participants received special gifts from the organisers after the event.
“I enjoyed the event much. I thought that I will not be able to become champion. Now, I am so happy to achieve the first spot. I want to take part in such competitions every year,” Syed Faaz Imtiaj, one of the champions of the meet expressed his feelings to the media.
Sadia Sharmin, guardians of one of the participant was grateful to the organisers of the meet and hoped that such events will be organised regularly.
“I extend my special thanks to the organisers for arranging such an event for our children. It encourages the guardians as well. Our children don’t get proper sports-friendly environment due to the lack of playgrounds in the urban area. Such events will encourage our children to take part in competitions,” said Sadia Sharmin.
