Bashundhara Group distributes relief in Manikganj
Bashundhara Group (BG), a leading business conglomerate in the country, continues relief distribution among flood-affected people in Manikganj.
Over 1,000 people of two unions under Ghior upazila in the district have received relief goods.
Every flood victim has got a packet of relief goods containing rice, pulses, sugar, salt and other essential food items.
The relief materials were distributed on the Bathoimuri shrine premises at Nali union at noon on Tuesday.
In the afternoon, Bashundhara Group distributed relief items among flood victims at Jabra Bazar under Baniajuri union.
Earlier on August 31, BG distributed relief among 4,000 flood victims in four unions of Daulatpur upazila.
Bashundhara Group Chairman’s Chief Adviser Mahbub Morshed Hasan said Bashundhara Group always extends support to the helpless and destitute people.
“We will continue relief distribution among the flood-affected people,” he told the local flood victims.
He also promised to donate bricks for improvement of the shrine structure.
Local lawmaker AM Naimur Rahman Durjoy said no people in flood-affected areas died from hunger.
“We are extending all-out support to the flood victims following instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Kazi Enayet Hossain Tipu, Manikganj Press Club President Gholam Sarwar, social worker Nurul Islam Sattar, district Krishak League president Mizanur Rahman, Councillor of Ward No 3 Mahbubur Rahman and former Chhatra League president Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
