Bashundhara LP Gas partners with Meghna Petroleum

Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd has signed a deal with Meghna Petroleum Ltd, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, to supply LPG and assist the state-run agency in setting up autogas (LPG used in vehicles) stations across the country.
Mir Saifullah-Al-Khaled, managing director of Meghna Petroleum, and Zakaria Jalal, head of sales of Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides during a function at Meghna Bhaban on Thursday.
Meghna Petroleum General Manager Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Deputy General Manager Shahin Reza Khan, Bashundhara LP Gas Limited’s Manager (media and public relations) Kazi Rokon Uddin and Engineer Md. Anamul Haque were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the deal signing function, Meghna Petroleum General Manager Mohammad Jasim Uddin said, “We are delighted to have signed the deal with the country’s largest LPG producer Bashundhara LP Gas Limited.”
“Meghna Petroleum Ltd markets all kinds of petroleum goods, lubricants, bitumen, LPG and battery water,” he said, adding it has 829 filling stations across the country.
With 39 percent market share, Meghna Petroleum Ltd dominates the sector, he added.
Terming the deal a milestone, Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd’s Head of Sales Zakaria Jalal said the two renowned companies will work together to market and distribute autogas across the country. LPG has been popular among the consumers at home and abroad for being safe and environment friendly. The gas is not only used for cooking at residential and commercial establishments but also for running vehicles.
Established in 1999, Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd has been working relentlessly to make the cylinders available to the consumers’ doorsteps. It has signed deals with 150 organisations to expand its business while the signing of deals with another 250 organisations is underway.
