Dhaka Motor Show draws huge crowd
The 11th Dhaka Motor Show, the biggest motor show of the country, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) witnessed huge crowd on Friday – the 2nd day of the three-day exposition.
Besides, the visitors are visiting two more expositions styled ‘the 2nd Dhaka Bike Show 2016’ and ‘the Dhaka Auto Parts Show’ at the same venue.
The events were inaugurated by Road and Transport Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday at the ICCB in the capital.
The visitors and consumers thronged different stalls to get hands-on experience and buy latest technology of the next generation motor vehicles and motor cycles at affordable prices with special offers.
Discounts and lucrative packages made by different traders were the main attraction in gaining the momentum to achieve targeted sales during the three-day events.
Sellers at different stalls said the fair witnessed the highest number of visitors on Friday, the weekly holiday. They expect that more visitors will gather at the fair site today – the last day of the exposition.
CEMS Global – Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd USA, in association with CEMS Bangladesh, organised the event.
Exhibitors said discounts and lucrative offers at the fair attracted the customers to buy their products while consumers said they are getting their expected products under one roof. They feel comfortable to buy vehicles from the fair as it creates the avenue for them to compare models, designs and prices of the products.
While visiting the expo at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city, this correspondent found that different stalls offered discounts on their displayed products— including motor cycles, four wheeler vehicles to promote the brand and boost their sales.
Organisers said, ‘Dhaka Motor Show’ stands as one of the flagship events of CEMS-Global in Bangladesh and it has become an icon of the country as the one and only international automotive exhibition of the country.
They said, Dhaka Motor Show emphasizes on automobiles, automotive parts and the related business sectors.
Renowned and leading car and motorcycle distributors, dealers along with lubricant companies, CNG conversion companies and automotive component manufacturers and importers from Bangladesh and abroad are showcasing their products in over 200 booths at the fair, informed the organisers.
They said, the show has become a platform for launching of latest models of Hyundai, Mercedes, Range Rover, Mitsuoka, Toyota, Prius with others brand.
Mohammad Wasim Uddin, deputy general manager (corporate business) of the local brand Runner Automobiles Limited said, they are receiving positive response from the visitors.
“Branding is our main focus during this fair. We are here to display six models of motorcycles out of 17 models under four brands. We brought these for the local buyers at affordable prices,” he added.
Wasim Uddin said, they have more than 111 service centres across the country to give after-sales services to the customers.
Ahsan Habib, senior executive of MJL Bangladesh Ltd said, they are displaying the high-end quality synthetic lubricant, which is famous worldwide.
“We are offering Tk 50-300 discounts on 1 littre and 4 littres Mobil-1 branded lubricant on spot sell.”
They also offered caps and T-shirts as gifts to attract the customers, he added.
Motor car importing organisation Navana is displaying Yaris car, Vos Sedan car, Rav4, Avanza 2015 and 2016 model cars at the fair.
They are offering Tk 50 thousand to 1.50 lakh discounts on spot sales.
AG Automobiles is displaying world renowned Sedan model of Ford brand on their stall.
Progoti Industries Ltd attended the showcase Mahindra and Mitsubishi brand jeeps.
The largest motor cycle importer Uttara Motors displayed Bajaj brand in 100cc to 150cc motorcycles.
The show remains open for trade and public visitors every day 10:30am to 09:30pm.
