Bashundhara Group Distribute Relief In Rohingya Camp

Bashundhara Group (BG), one of the leading business conglomerates in Bangladesh, has extended support to around 40,000 Rohingyas who have fled to Cox’s Bazar to avoid persecution by Myanmar security forces.
A large number of ethnic minority people, including women and children, hailing from Rakhine state of Myanmar, are suffering acute shortage of drinking water. They are exposed to health hazards for leading unhygienic life.
Against the backdrop, Bashundhara Group has sent pure drinking water and sanitation items.It has constructed 600 bathroom-cum-toilets and installed 150 deep tube wells in the Rohingya-hit areas of Cox’s Bazar.

Besides, Bashundhara Group started distribution of relief materials, including food and clothes.
It sent 40,000 pieces of lungi for men, 25,000 pieces of thami for women, 3,000 pieces of tea shirts for children, 3,200 pieces of sweater, 1,800 pieces of jeans pants for children, 600 pieces of mosquito nets, 250 tin barley, and 100 tons potatoes.
The Group started installation of infrastructures at temporary camps at Kutupalang, Balukhali, Thaingkhali, Tanzimar Ghona and Hakimpara from September 14.
Bashundhara Group extends support to the helpless and destitute as a matter of routine. It distributed relief among flood-hit people in Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj, Jamalpur and Manikganj.
Apart from these, BG stands by the people, especially children suffering from critical disease requiring costly treatments.
Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute holds free eye camps at different parts of the country and provides treatment to poor patients.

The patients who need surgery are taken to the hospital in Dhaka. The costs of surgery, food, shelter, medicine, test and transport are borne by Bashundhara Group.
