Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited (BICL), the largest cement-producing enterprise of the country, signed a corporate agreement with Genetic Limited (GL) on Sunday for supply of the construction material. As per the deal, the Bashundhara Group concern will provide cement to 40 more projects of GL. The BICL will provide some 4 lakh bags of cement in different projects at different locations of GL, according to the agreement. Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director (MD) of Bashundhara Group, and M Saiful Kabir, MD of GL, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at a ceremony held in the conference room of East West Media Group Limited. Captain (retd) Shamim Ahmed, chairman of GL, Belayet Hossain, senior deputy managing director of Bashundhara Group, Mohammad Abu Tayeb, media adviser, AR Rashidi, MM Jasim Uddin, head of Department of Brand and Marketing, Khandaker Kingshuk Hossain, general manager (Sales and Marketing Division of Bashundhara Group), Md Moniruzzaman, in-charge of Corporate Sales Department, and Ashikur Rahman, Brand Manager of Bashundhara Cement, were among others present at the agreement-signing ceremony. “With this deal done, BICL made another step forward in spreading its product for different construction works across the country,” the function was told. Earlier, the BICL had also signed an agreement with Abdul Monem Ltd and it will provide cement for the approach road construction of much-hyped about Padma Bridge. While talking to this correspondent, MM Jasim Uddin said BICL is producing cement enriched with high quality. As a result, demand of the cement of BICL is huge, he added. The BICL produces 125,000 tonnes of cement per month, said MM Jasim. “Bringing raw materials from Indonesia, Vietnam and China, we pay our best efforts to ensure the quality of the cement,” he said.
