Bashundhara Industrial Complex Ltd has signed an agreement with Exelon Bangladesh Ltd to set up solar energy system on its rooftop in order to make the industry environment- friendly.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group and DM Abu Bakar Siddique, Managing Director of Exelon Bangladesh Ltd signed the deal of behalf of their respective sides at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarter-1 in the city on Thursday.
The solar energy project will set up 6,560 high-powered mono crystal panels and first-class inverters over the 20,000 square feet space to generate quality solar energy.
This solar project will generate around 2.83 million unit electricity in echo-friendly way. The panel will rid the country of 2647 metric tons of carbon annually may be emitted by traditional power plant for generation of such volume of electricity.
Alongside generating renewable energy, Bashundhara Industrial Complex will be an environment-friendly, carbon-free industry.
For this solar project, Bashundhara Group has nominated Exelon Bangladesh Ltd which is financed by Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).
Among others, top officials of Bashundhara Group and Exelon Bangladesh Ltd were also present on the occasion.
