Bashundhara Shuvosangho has distributed relief materials among the flood-affected, poor, and helpless people of Keshabpur upazila in Jessore district.
The relief materials were handed over to the recipients at an event held at the Keshabpur Press Club auditorium on Monday morning.
Khandaker Shafi, president of the Keshabpur upazila unit of Shuvosangho, chaired the event.
Besides, Shuvosangho Adviser and Principal of Municipal Technical College Asim Ghosh, General Secretary of Keshabpur Press Club Abdullah Al Fuad, Journalist Shahinur Rahman, Shuvosangho’s Sports Secretary Shawkat Hossain, Executive Members Ehsanul Hossain Taifur, Kamruzzaman Raju and representative from Kaler Kantho Nurul Islam Khan were present.
During the event, the Shuvosangho members and guests distributed rice among over a hundred flood-affected individuals across various villages in the upazila. The recipients expressed their gratitude to Bashundhara Shuvosangho for the much-needed support.
Sufia Khatun from Bhabanipur, a flood-affected area in the upazila, expressed her relief, saying that receiving rice had greatly helped her family in times of need and would last them for several days.
Sadhan Saha from Sahapara in Madhyakul shared that his home had been flooded for a month, which had limited his work opportunities. After reaching out to several people about his hardship, he was touched when friends from Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Keshabpur unit found him and provided rice.
Regarding this initiative, Khandaker Shafi said with the support of Bashundhara Shuvosangho and the Keshabpur branch’s efforts, these humanitarian activities will continue to assist the poor and helpless.
