To provide free and accessible treatment for various complex diseases at the grassroots level, a daylong free medical camp was held on Saturday in Belnagar village of Magura.
The event was organised by the Bashundhara Foundation, managed by Afroza Begum General Hospital in Manikganj and Afroza Begum Diagnostic Center. The camp was supported by the Rotary Club of Dhaka Megacity.
At the medical camp, free consultations with doctors, blood group testing, diabetes screening, gynecology and eye examinations, as well as treatment for various complex diseases and medication, were provided free of cost.
Notable attendees included Nasimul Hai, Deputy Managing Director of Bashundhara Group; Ashiqur Rahman, Coordinator of the Bashundhara Hospital Project; Rotarian Kaiser Hamid Lovon, Managing Director of BD Finance Bank; Rotarian Asma Rahman Tania; and Nargis Akhter Chaiti, Afroza Begum Diagnostic Center Operations Manager, among others.
Ruma Khatun, a pregnant woman from Belnagar village, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Doctors came from Dhaka to provide us free medical treatment and medicines. We are happy because, due to financial constraints, it is not possible for us to go to Dhaka for consultations with prominent doctors."
More than 300 patients from the village received free treatment from Bashundhara Group, benefiting the underprivileged residents of the area.
