Bashundhara Cement, a concern of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, on Thursday signed an agreement with Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group Co Ltd of China for supplying cement for construction of the Gazipur-Airport Flyover.
Bashundhara Group Deputy Managing Director engineer AKM Mahbub-uz-Zaman and Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group Co. Ltd project representative Gi Lei signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations held at a city hotel.
Among others, Bashundhara Group Senior DMD Belayet Hossain, Advisor Mohammad Abu Tayeb, Kaler Kantho editor Imdadul Haq Milon, group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tofail Hossain, Chief Marketing Officer Khandker Kingshuk Hossain and Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group Co Ltd’s top officials were also present on the occasion.
At the programme, officials said that Bashundhara Cement has been producing more than 50 lakh tonnes cement annually using the VRM technology. Bashundhara cement is also being used in mega projects across the country.
He said owing to its best quality, Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group has chosen Bashundhara cement for supplying cement to the four-kilometre BRTA Gazipur-Airport flyover project. Bashundhara Cement will supply more than 1 lakh tonnes cement under the deal.
Chief Marketing Officer Kingshuk Hossain said Bashundhara Cement has become number one brand in cement sector and supplying cement to mega projects like metro rail, elevated expressway, Matarbari power plant and Rooppur Power Plant.
Gi Lei said that they are happy to have Bashundhara Group as their cement partner for this important project.
