Bashundhara Shuvosangho has distributed educational materials among madrasa students in Durgapur, Netrakona.
The distribution took place on Monday morning at Fazlul Ulum Karimia Madrasa in the Kharsha area of Durgapur municipality.
A total of 20 students received notebooks, pens, files, scales and other essential supplies.
Among them, 10 were orphans and 10 were from financially disadvantaged families.
Tobarak Hossain Khokon, president of Durgapur Press Club, attended the event as the chief guest.
Among others present were Bashundhara Shuvosangho Durgapur unit advisers SM Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, Nirmolendu Sarker Babul and Durgapur Press Club General Secretary Md Masum Billah, vice-president Rajesh Gaur, General Secretary and Kaler Kantho correspondent Al Noman Shanto, madrasa teacher Maulana Zakaria Hossain, and teacher Hafiz Rafiqul Islam.
Maulana Zakaria Hossain said, “The educational materials provided by Bashundhara Shuvosangho for our 10 orphaned and 10 underprivileged students are truly essential. We express our sincere gratitude.”
Chief guest Tobarak Hossain Khokon said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho is spreading humanitarian values in society by standing beside the underprivileged and marginalised people of the country.
“I believe this initiative to distribute educational materials will play a vital role in encouraging students to pursue education.”
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Durgapur unit general secretary Al Noman Shanto said, “The students of this madrasa are orphans and come from economically struggling families.
“We feel delighted to support their education. Bashundhara Shuvosangho will continue such humanitarian activities in the future as well."
