Anvir Bashundhara Group donated Tk1 lakh to each of the families of the three Fire Service members who were killed while risking their lives to extinguish the devastating fire in Gazipur in September.
As part of his humanitarian commitment, Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir extended the financial support at a programme held at the headquarters of the Fire Service and Civil Defence on Thursday.
The assistance money was handed over to the families of the deceased by the Director General of the Fire Service, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahid Kamal, and ABG’s General Manager (Central Administration), Lt Colonel (Retd) Syed Jamil Ahsan.
Many other officers and employees of the Fire Service were present at the event and expressed their gratitude to Sayem Sobhan Anvir for this humanitarian initiative.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (27 November) afternoon, in a post from his verified Facebook account, Sayem Sobhan Anvir wrote:“I pay my deepest respect to the three brave members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence who were martyred while risking their lives to extinguish the fire at the chemical warehouse in the Sahara Market area of Tongi, Gazipur.”
Mentioning the names of the three fallen Fire Service personnel, he wrote:
“Those who were martyred in the devastating fire on 22 September 2025 included: Firefighter Shaheed Mohammed Nurul Huda, Firefighter Shaheed Shamim Ahmed, Warehouse Inspector Shaheed Khandaker Jannatul Naeem. Their sacrifice stands as a unique example of dedication to the safety of the people of this country.”
