President of Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd and Vice-Chairman of Bashundhara Group Safwan Sobhan Tasvir has said that Sheikh Jamal Cricket Academy will do everything to develop international-standard cricketers.
He said that Sheikh Jamal are constantly being recognised in the country’s cricketing arena. The club will provide all kind of support, including good coach, physio, training, nutrition and other necessary facilities to cricketers.
The club president expressed his vision for Sheikh Jamal during the annual picnic of Sheikh Jamal Cricket Academy on the club premises on Saturday.
Former players and young cricketers along with their guardians participated in different events throughout the day.
The club president handed over the prizes to the winners of the competitions after the lunch.
Governing Body Chairman of Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd Manzur Kader, Executive Committee members and general members of the club were also present at the prize distributing ceremony. Club Director Md Iqbal Khokon conducted the whole meet.
Manzur Kader awarded club President Safwan Sobhan with a honorary crest during the event.
Safwan Sobhan was very pleased to be able to bring everyone related to the club to the picnic.
“This is my first event as the president of this club. I am very happy to get everyone here together. It is a matter of pride for me that I can contribute to the advancement of the club. Great players will come out of this club in future. Thus I feel very proud to be here,” said Safwan Sobhan.
He reminisced about Dhanmondi field. He stated that he played a lot in the field when he was child. For him, it was a matter of great joy that now he can contribute to sports for kids.
“Everyone including club directors have been working hard for the development of the club. I welcome all the steps which have taken for the development of the club,” Safwan Sobhan concluded.
Manzur Kader also spoke on the occasion. He said the club will organise events like this in the future.
“It is a huge event. I am glad to see all the beautiful faces. We will arrange such programmes in future too. Sheikh Jamal Cricket Academy will maintain the successful run in near future.”
The eventful ceremony ended with a raffle draw and a pleasant cultural performance in the afternoon.
Bashundhara Group, country’s largest business conglomerate is patronising the club. The group also sponsors various sporting events like football, table tennis and golf. The group is the premier patron of sports at home and abroad.
